Position : Assistant Finance Manager – Power & Refinery
Location : Iraq
Salary : USD 3,000 – USD 3,500 + Family Accommodation + Bonus + Annual Benefits
Our Client, a well-established Conglomerate Group, is looking for an experienced & Talented Asst. Finance Manager for their Power & Refinery Division based in Iraq. The Assistant Finance Manager assists in managing the company’s financial performance by preparing reports, supervising accounting functions, supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to internal controls. This role acts as a bridge between operational teams and senior management, helping to translate financial insights into actionable business strategies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Reporting & Analysis – Ability to prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports accurate monthly, quarterly, and annually consolidated financial statements, in accordance with IFRS
- Budgeting & Forecasting – Reporting monthly budget and forecasting analysis to departments in Refinery & Power Plant, battery factory and energy projects.
- Cash Flow Management – Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure and position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, account maintenance and others.
- Accounting Standards Knowledge – Understanding of local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Financial Planning – Ability to support strategic financial planning and cost control initiatives.
- Audit Support – Experience in coordinating and preparing for internal and external audits.
- Regulatory Compliance – Knowledge of relevant financial, tax, and corporate regulations.
- Leadership & Team Management – Capability to supervise junior staff and support the finance team
- Problem-Solving – Ability to identify financial issues and implement practical solutions
- Risk Management – Understanding and implementation of system controls and risk management processes.
Skillset Required :
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce mandatory. CIMA/ACCA/CPA Qualification will be a plus
- Min 5yrs of GCC experience in a Senior Financial Analyst or Chief Accountant or Managerial role
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts, financial reporting standards and best practices in GCC
- Proficient in financial systems like SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or any ERP Software
- Advanced Excel Skills – Proficient in data analysis and financial modelling.
- Excellent communication skills in English & Arabic preferred
